MAN » 400 / 500 / 600 - series L / H
Since 1955 producing of the new "L" series began. The trucks had all-metal cab with panoramic windscreen, wide short nose and wings with integrated headlights. By 1959, the "L" series included 25 basic models with payload from 4,0 to 8,5 t (the model from "415L1" to "860L") with 6-cylinder engines "M" series (100-160 hp), including the cab over the engine versions "L1F". After 1962 the trucks received new type engines and letter "H" instead of "L". The light family consisted of the next models:
- 400 L1 (1955-1958) - payload - 4700 kg, curb weight - 3900 kg, engine - 6-cylinder diesel MAN D9626 M1, 100 hp, transmission - 5-speed manual ZF. All-wheel drive version 410 L1 A also was available.
- 415 L1 (1957-1962) - payload - 4950 kg, curb weight - 4050 kg, engine - 6-cylinder diesel MAN D0026 M1, 115 hp, transmission - 5-speed manual ZF. All-wheel drive version 415 L1 A also was available.
- 415 H (1962-1970) - modernization of 415 L1 model.
- 520 L1 (1957-1962) - payload - 5500 kg, engine - 6-cylinder diesel MAN D0026 M2, 120 hp, transmission - 5-speed manual ZF. Also produced in Turkey (including versions 6x2) up to 1977.
- 520 H (1962-1970) - modernization of 520 L1 model. All-wheel drive version 520 L1 A also was available.
- 626 H (1965-1970) - payload 6700 kg, engine MAN D0026 M6, 126 hp.
- 635 L1 (1959-1962) - payload - 6600 kg, curb weight - 4400 kg, engine - 6-cylinder diesel MAN D0836 M2, 135 hp, transmission - 5-speed manual ZF. This version can be distinguished by additional vents between the grille and headlights.
- 635 H (1962-1969) - modernization of 635 L1. Payload - 7370 kg, curb weight - 3925 kg, engine - the same as 635 L1, but with some modifications.
- 650 H (1964-1968) - payload - 7385 kg, curb weight - 4615 kg, engine - 6-cylinder diesel MAN D0836 HM4 (from 1965 - HM70), 150 hp (from 1965 - 156 hp . pp.) Transmission - 6-speed manual ZF.
