In 1978, Chevrolet presented the top version Titan SS. This model received a specially designed appearance with a huge grille, and convenience package. The basic package includes such luxury items as Custom Deluxe interior, sport style steering wheel, chrome gear shift favor, lighter, AM/FM stereo, stereo tape, air conditioning, power window, chrome West Coast mirrors, dual air horns, Perlux lamps in bumper, special paint package and special wheel package. In 1980, such massive "SS" grille became standard for all Titan's. Other news for 1980 - the trucks lost 495 pounds of weight, received soft riding tapered front and rear springs, corrosion-resistance SMC fiberglass doors, bumpers with flexible end caps, improved air conditioner, shock mounted rear lights, and interior saddle color changed to dark brown and dark blue added.
