The main army trucks of World War II were 5-ton ML4500S (4x2) and ML4500A (4x4) with 6-cylinder 110-horsepower diesel engine D1040, 5-speed gearbox, pneumatic brakes, all-metal cab and different bodies. By the end of the war about 2 thousand copies were produced, not counting the trucks gathered at the Austrian company OAF.
