DAF » YGZ 2300
DAF YGZ 2300 is a range of 6x6 trucks with a wheelbase of 5350 mm, belonging to the Y 2300 family of military trucks. The chassis was designed for the transportation of the elements of the pontoon bridge Faltschwimmbrücke (FSB) produced by Eisenwerke Kaiserslautern (EWK). 10-ton trucks were equipped with 6-cylinder diesel engines DAF DHS825 rated at 184 kW (246 hp) and 10-ton winches Rotzler A100H. DAF supplied the Netherlands army with 96 trucks for the transport of the floating section and 38 trucks for the transport of the boats called "Boot, bruggenbouw" manufactured by Damen Shipyards. There was one more version for transportation of a mobile roadway.
Another versions were made: DAF YLZ 2300 was a prototype of a mobile crane with a maximum reach of up to 23 meters made by Hydrokran. The army also ordered several versions of DAF YWL 2300 with a multi-lift system for transporting military containers. The maximum carrying capacity of this version is 8 tonnes. The YWO 2300 and YWZ 2300 were modifications of the YWL 2300.
