After several years of successful sales of the medium range Dongfeng Tianjin truck, the company showed a new generation called the Tianjin KR (新天 锦). The truck was completely renewed externally, received a stylish cabin with a youth design. The front bumper consists of two elements: the upper part with integrated headlights is painted in the same color with the cabin, and the lower one is made of black shockproof plastic. The door handles are completely recessed into the door.

The interior is also completely new, aged in black tones with silvery inserts. The driver looks at a simple instrument panel with an information display in the center. There is another LCD in the central console to show navigation and multimedia system.

The main engine is Cummins ISDe6.7 with a working volume of 6.7 liters, power of 230 hp and a torque of 900 Nm. It is equipped with a common rail system by Bosch and a turbocharger. It is combined with a manual 6-speed Dongfeng TD6 gearbox. Later, other versions of engines and transmissions will be available. The truck meets the 6th environmental class by local classification due to the use of a whole chain of systems: EGR + DOC + DPF + SCR + EGP.
