Renault » D Course

Throughout Friday 17 May, the curtains on the paddock of the Renault Trucks-MKR Technology team's paddock remained closed. It was only in the evening, following a press conference attended by Bruno Blin, the President of Renault Trucks and Mario Kress, director of MKR Technology, that the 2013 trucks were finally unveiled. Created by the Renault Trucks Hall of Design (HDD) teams, this design was unanimously applauded by the journalists present and also impressed the crowds the following day.

"We have had three years’ experience with MKR Technology," said Hervé Bertrand, Renault Trucks' director of design. "And after discussions with the team, we decided to redesign certain parts. The aim was to enable the team to replace the parts of the bodywork that get damaged during races faster and more easily. This principally applies to the lower parts of the radiator grille or the side fairings which are particularly vulnerable to the, shall we say, inevitably virile contacts that are an inherent component of the race!"
