At the motor show in Amsterdam in 2007 the new truck for international and domestic long distance traffic - the MAN TGX was presented. It can be equipped with one of three types of cabins (XL, XLX and XXL), providing the driver convenience of driving, leisure and life during long trips. Improved interior design provides maximum freedom of movement, and the new equipment and fresh design create a more comfortable and safe work. In comparison with the TGA model, the TGX has 4% less drag coefficient. The new exterior mirrors and cabin fairings 30% reduce noise from wind. Driver has a good visibility. The front part of the new cabin flows into the radiator 15% more air that TGA model, and as a result the engine cooling system works better. By the way, if the TGA model has the standart grill, performing the traditional functions, the TGX model has a decorative plastic front grill. The flow of air now goes lower and with greater efficiency. The headlights are made with LED technology (clearance lights with daylight function).Design of the interior has smooth lines, harmoniously connects the dashboard and side panels of doors. The TGX is equipped with 6-cylinder engines (from 360 to 540 hp) or V8 engine with 680 hp. And the last motor has two versions with a torque of 2700 Nm for long hauls tractors and 3000 Nm for heavy load trains with GCVW is up to 250 tons. The engines that meet Euro 4 requirements, performance standards achieved by use of EGR system with particulate filters. The engines that meet Euro 5 requirements standards achieved by use of SCR system, using reagent AdBlue. Transmission is by the ZF: 16-speed manual or 12-speed TipMatic. All transmissions are equipped with intarder, and on a request, PriTarder. Also can be ordered a 6-speed automatic transmission. TGX V8-cab XXL cab is the high-class truck. In a special kit of this truck entered first-class leather seats with logo «V8» and elements of the dashboard made of carbon fiber. In 2010 MAN has presented high efficient version TGX EfficientLine with XLX cab. This version has 3 l/100 km lower fuel consumption, which can save about €20,000 for 4-year period for operator.
