In 1973, the company updated the very popular in Romania bonneted truck Steagul Roshu Bucegi SR-131 by equipping it with the latest six-cylinder diesel engine MAN with working volume of 5489 cm3 and power of 135 hp. At the same time the frame and suspension were reinforced, and the transmission's ratios were changed, allowing to raise the capacity from 5 to 6 tons. This model was the first truck, which was branded as the DAC. Along with the new units, the company made a slight facelift of the old truck. In particular, the new trucks received updated front grille with headlights moved to the bumper, taken from Roman trucks, which now consisted of three elements. This range included two models: DAC 6.135R - 4x2 and DAC 6.135RA - 4x4.
