Chevrolet » Series 3000 Forward Control / Step-Van '58

Chevrolet's Forward Control chassis continued to appear under a variety of delivery bodies. Only the Step-Vans were available factory direct, and were all rated as 3/4-ton units P20, or 1-ton with optional rear axle P30. They came as the Model 3445 on 104-inch wheelbase; the Model 3545 on a 125-inch wheelbase, and as a Model 3745 on a 137-inch wheelbase. GVW ratings up to 10,000 pounds could be ordered. The Step-Vans were available only with 6-cylinder engines, either the 235.5 cubic inch Thriftmaster or the 260 cubic inch Jobmaster. Hydra-Matic automatic transmission was available for all models. Among other builders supplying special bodies for Chevrolet Forward Control units were Airvan, Boyertown, DeKalb, Herman, Universal, Dayton-Brown, Olson, Montpelier, and General. Many of these builders deleted the Chevrolet name from the chassis, and installed its own signatures. In 1960 the Step-Van received a new grille design of slightly more pointed bars, and could be ordered with tunneled signal lights. The trucks were offered with 3 sizes of body (8-, 10- or 12-foot) and 3 sizes of interior body height (68, 72 or 76 inches). The engine is 250 Six with 150 hp or 292 Six with 170 hp.

Do you know what the windshield measurements are for your 1959/60 Chevrolet Task Force Step Van Model 3545? I'm searching for a windshield for my 72 Dodge Southwood (1 of only 6 built) and it looks like this might be the same windshield that is in my unit!!! I've been searching just to try and figure out what windshields they used. Once I can sort that out, hopefully I can finally source a replacement for my motorhome:)
