Since 1984 a new medium duty range LK (model, "609/1320") was produced with 90-201 hp engines, GVW 6,5-11 tons and a simplified cabin. For the first time, these efficient trucks had received the award "Truck of the Year 1985". In 1985, the all-wheel-drive versions AK (trucks) and AF (fire chassis) were presented. In 1989 the family range was expanded by 15-ton models LK1517 and LK1520 with 170 and 201 hp engines. At the same time the most powerful 240 hp engine was showed for models with the GVW of 11-17 tons. There are 16 base models with 11 different wheelbases, two types of cabins - day and sleeper, five engine choices ranging from 88 to 240 hp, five - or six-speed manual and four speed automatic transmission in the range. The lightest models in the range are "709" and "809". These trucks are equipped with an economical four-cylinder 88 hp engine were used mainly in cities. The models with a 211 - 240 hp engines are able to tow trailers with GCVW of 21 - 32.5 tons. Such trucks are perfect for transportation of low density bulk cargoes at any distances.
