Mack » T54

In the early 50s the company Mackwas selected to create a new range of 5-ton trucks for the U.S. Army. In 1953 two prototype T54 were created - one with an aluminum body, the second - with a steel body. Prototypes had the 250 hp eight-cylinder opposite Continental OA536-1 engine. Transmission was the Allison TT270. Cabs of the prototypes were aluminum. Tilted hood improved visibility from the driver's seat. Axle configuration – 6х6. Tires dimension - 14,00x20. Only 2 prototypes were built. Then, the company Mack began producing the unified range M54.
