Einride » T-Log

Swedish startup Einride has developed an electric logging truck that can carry up to 16 tonnes. The vehicle called T-Log has no driver's cab, but can be remotely controlled if necessary. It is to be used as a timber transporter in the forest. The vehicle was first shown at the 2018 Goodwood Festival of Speed in the UK.

The T-Log is driven purely electrically. For autonomous driving, the developers rely on software from Nvidia. The lack of a cabin offers more space for the load, according to the manufacturer. If required, the T-Log can also be remotely controlled by a person hundreds of miles away.

Controlling the vehicle are a plethora of cameras, lidars, and radars that help provide a 360-degree view of the world. Details about the T-log’s powertrain haven’t been announced but it will be able to haul more logs than a diesel truck of the same size thanks to the immense torque provided by electric motors and the small cabin.

From 2020 the T-Log should be ready for the market and mainly on forest trails. The vehicle should come with a range around 190 km. The speed is electronically limited to 85 km/h.

"With the T-Log we have created a vehicle that can withstand the rigors of a demanding environment," said Einride CEO Robert Falck Electrek. The price of the vehicle should be about $ 100,000.
