DAF » YA 414

The DAF YA 414 is a prototype of a 4-tonnes, four-wheel-drive army truck, which is based on the 3-tonnes DAF YA 314. The DAF factory demonstrated their army vehicles to the NATO partners several times including Spanish army officers. They interested in DAF YA 314 but with a load capacity of 4 tonnes. In 1968, DAF decided to build a prototype.

The YA-414 was created using the components of YA 314. After extensive tests, it was decided to build YA 414 under the license from DAF in Spain at the Pegaso factory.

The prototype is fitted with a 4 stroke liquid cooled DAF 475BB gasoline engine. It has a capacity of 4769 cc and power of 135 hp (or 155 hp) at 3500 rpm. Overall dimensions — 6470x2480x2720 mm. Wheelbase — 3700 mm. The only prototype was built.
