In 1986, MAZ 7310 range was replaced by an updated 21-tonnes MAZ 7313 truck and 23-tonnes MAZ 73131 chassis. They still were based on MAZ 543, but had frame and suspension parts from the new 'Oplot' range. Curb weight of the flatbed truck is 23.7 tonnes, GVW — 44.85 tonnes. Other technical data was the same with similar military versions. MAZ 73131 was used as a chassis for heavy mobile cranes KS 5573 and KS 6571A. They also used as an airfield fire trucks.
