In the 1990 the updated models DAF 2900 and 3200 came to replace 2800 and 3300. They were presented in Amsterdam at the RAI truck show. In addition to the updated exterior in a style of a new DAF 95, these models received improved engines with an output of 288 and 324 hp. DAF 2900 and 3200 were positioned as a cheaper alternative for those operators for whom DAF 95 was too expensive.
