The third generation of trucks of Brasov plant became the first generation, made under the new brand name Roman. Externally they were very similar to the German trucks MAN F8, presented in 1967. There was a choice of three engines for these models: a 6-cylinder Saviem 797-05 with an output of 135 hp and working volume of 5488 cm3, MAN D2156 rated at 215 hp and MAN D2356 rated at 256 hp. In addition to modern diesel engines the Romans received comfortable cabins in short or long versions, an increased load capacity, many chassis, axles and wheelbases variants. The models offered as multipurpose chassis, flatbed trucks, dump trucks, tractors and special trucks.
The most popular was a two-axle 135 hp Roman 8.135F flatbed truck with a payload capacity of 7.8 tonnes and GVW of 12.1 tonnes. It had a 5-speed gearbox and maximum speed of 81 km/h. The 8-ton range also included all-wheel drive version 8.135FA (4x4), tractor truck 8.135FS with GCW of 17 tonnes, dump truck 8.135FK with load capacity of 5.8 t. Later the company presented 10-ton range 10.215 with 215-horsepower engine and 6-speed gearbox. This truck could reach 75 km/h of maximum speed. Since 1971, 3-axle range included flatbed trucks Roman 12.135DF (6x4) and 12.135DFA (6x6). A few years later they were replaced by the more powerful 215-horsepower models 12.215 and 19.215, which became the most famous in the model lineup. This range included flatbed models 12.215DF and 19.215DF with load capacity of 12 and 18 tonnes and GVW of 18.5~26 tonnes, tractors DFS with GCW of 36,5-38,0 t, and dump trucks 19.215DFK with load capacity of 16 tons.
The most powerful 256 hp range 19.256 included flatbed model 19.256DF with load capacity of 18.3 tonnes and a 6-speed manual transmission, 15-ton dump truck 19.256DFK with GVW of 25 tonnes and tractor truck 12.256DFS with 12-speed manual gearbox and a sleeping cabin with GCW of 38 tones and a maximum speed of 95 km/h. The chassis was the base for making concrete mixers, cranes, tanks, and other. The first airfield fire trucks "ASPA" and "ATI" were made on the chassis of 12.215DFA (6x6).
