Chevrolet » Bison

At the 1964 New York World Expo General Motors showed concept truck Chevrolet Bison, a turbine-powered freight hauler, which could carry containerized cargoes at new peaks of efficiency. The truck had 2 turbine engines rated at 300 and 700 hp, located above the cab. The Bison anticipates the day when much of freight may be moved in standardized containers which can be automatically loaded, unloaded, sorted and stored by electronically-controlled equipment.

AT THE WORLD'S FAIR, I, IN MY TIGHT GREY 60'S STYLE SLACKS AND WHITE BUTTON-DOWN SHIRT AND SHORT BLONDE SURFER HAIRCUT , WITH A BUDDY - WE WERE 10 - OPENED THE ORANGE LOWER DOOR - WHICH HAD NO LOCKING LATCH AT ALL - HOPPED IN AND PREPARED TO DECIDE WHICH OF THE PUSH-BUTTON CONTROLS TO TRY TO SEE IF WE COULD ACTIVATE ITS SYSTEMS. PEOPLE WERE FILING BY VIEWING US LOOKING COOL FOR A LONG WHILE UNTIL A GM GOON CAME OUT WITH A SHOCKED LOOK ON HIS FACE AND INSISTED WE EXIT ! COOL DAY !rnrnRIK STRATTEN
