Ahrens-Fox » E / V / W / Y series 2

The second half of the 1930s was a period of rapid product development at Ahrens-Fox. So, the company's budget-oriented E / V / W / Y models were based on the handsomely restyled Schacht trucks with handsome streamlined design, tapered hood and sloped front grille.

Image 3 truck was owned by the Ashland Fire Dept, Ashland Wi. I had a ride on this truck driven by my dad as a member of the dept when I was about 11. This truck was in service reserve when I was little behind a Diamond T.

We are the proud owners of this treasured fire engine. Serial # WR 8013 was purchased by Ashland, WI in the summer of 1936 and owned by the City until February 28, 1975 when we purchased it. We used the rig for parades and musters until 1978 when she was taken to Ken Soderbeck's "Hand in Hand Fire Company" for restoration. Under Ken's magical touch, the "FOX" turned out to be a winner in restoration, appearance, and pumping. As a native of Ashland I was allowed to sit in the driver's seat in the 1950's and wish for the day it would be mine. Our family name is the Five Belle Fire Engine Company and we have a female Ahrens-Fox. We also own Ashland's former 1940 Diamond T Darley Pumper. TM
