IVECO » Stralis Glider

The concept truck Stralis Glider is a laboratory on wheels, which was presented at the 63rd IAA Commercial Vehicle Show in Hanover. This project was the result of environmental studies, it offers a new concept of high-performance and environmentally friendly vehicle. The project was developed in cooperation with Fiat Develops Center. The team of researchers and specialists were founding an inspiration in one of the most perfect creations of nature - the eagle. This bird is a compromise between performance and economy of energy used. The Stralis Glider features 2m2 of photo-electric cells, which provide up to 2kW of energy, while a Rankine cycle heat exchanger converts waste exhaust heat into more storable energy. The recovered energy is stored in a high-energy storage unit where it can be used for the truck's "hotel" functions. This is claimed to shave 5% off fuel consumption. A Kinetic Energy Recovery System to capture energy wasted under braking saves another 10%. Advanced engine cooling and low rolling resistance tires complete the energy-saving measures.

    Ten velky dotykovy displej na ovladanie dolezitych funkcii snad nemyslia vazne !!! To musel snad vymyslet niekto z kancelarie vytrhnuty z reality. Nech si skusi niekto z autorov konceptu s tym aspon kusok zajazdit a bez pohladu len hmatom prestavit niektory z virtualnych dotykovych ovladacov. Sakra takym ludom dat maximalne cirkularku s nudzovym vypinanim cez dotykovy displej a trojstupnove menu, inak to ti magori nepochopia, ale to by uz mali par prstov prec. To ze sa nieco technicky da vyrobit a dobre to vyzera na obrazku este neznamena ze je to aj prakticke na pouzivanie. Pravdepodobne sa k danym funkciam da dopatrat aj pomocou tlacidiel na volante, ale je to urcite cez nejake menu a bez pohladu minimalne na hlavny displej to nepojde. Hruza ked sa setri na klasickych vypinacoch len preto ze dotykovy displej je uz lacnejsi ako mechanicke spinace.

would like info on setting timing on 1925 American LaFrance-12. 6 cylinder in line engine. Has Magneto and distributor. Where should the advance lever be positioned for setting timing? How many degree of timing does the engine require 34, 36, 38 degrees Before Top Dead Center. Should the engine be started with any of the compression valves opened? Need this info for a Christmas parade in Titusville, Fl. Thanks for any help. Richard Burns, fire Chief's father in law.
