In 2001, the light duty series L2000 was updated and called LE or L2000 Evolution. This series includes different variants with axle arrangements 4x2, 4x4 or 6x2 and with GVW 7,5-18,0. The trucks are designed for urban and short local transportation, as well as for public utilities. The LE series is equipped with 4 - and 6-cylinder diesel engines D0834 and D0836 with output of 150-280 hp, 5-9 speeds manual transmissions ZF or, on a request, a 5-speed automatic transmission, hypoid main drive, suspension on parabolic leaf springs or a pneumatic, braking system with ABS as standard, 5 types of cabins, including double 5-place cab and sleeping TopSleeper cab.
