Ural » 4322 / Range "The Land"

A new range of air transporable trucks under the name "The Land" was created by Ural factory in April 1977. It was future development of Ural 379/395 prototypes, including its unique amphibious versions. In 1978 the first conventional 3-axle truck Ural-4322 (6x6) was made. It had a carrying capacity of 5.5 tonnes (5.0 tonnes with a winch) and was based on serial Ural-4320 truck with a wheelbase of 3525+1400 mm and a new all-metal cargo platform with a length of 4,500 mm. Long wheelbase version 4322B had a payload of 5.5-6.0 tonnes used 275 mm longer chassis of Ural-4320.

Ural-4322 range received a new cabin, fenders and a front dashe with a vertical welded grille. They were equipped with a diesel engine KamAZ-740.10 V8 (10,85 liters, 210 hp), dual-clutch transmission, 5-speed gearbox, tire pressure control system, 24-volt electrical equipment, two fuel tanks with a total capacity of 259 liters and a high intake pipe on the right side of the cab. These systems were similar with Ural-4320 equipment. The new 4322 range featured pneumatic power transmission, and additional sealing of the main units and the cab.

Ural-4322B received a new all-metal cargo platform with a length of 4694 mm with a canopy that could accommodate up to 33 troops. The curb weight of Ural-4322 was 9,050 kg, GVW - 14,850 kg, maximum speed - 85 kph, range - 840 km. Later a new multipurpose short wheelbase chassis Ural-43224 was added to the range. In 1985, another prototype was made - Ural-4322V with a new air-cooled engine Ural-744.10 V8 rated at 234 hp, which later became a serial truck Ural-43223.
