Within a year after the release of the first truck, General Motors do Brazil presented an updated version. The new 6500 series trucks received the front end in a style of the US Chevrolets of 1954. 6.5-ton trucks were equipped with a reliable and unpretentious 4.2 liter engine rated at 142 hp and 4-speed manual gearbox. The nickname of Series 6500 trucks was "Marta Rocha" in honor of Miss Brazil.
