Chevrolet » Viking 4000 / 6000 '58

In 1958 all Chevrolet models were updated. It definitely stood they out from the previous units. Among the changes were quad-headlights, a new and much wider grille with integral parking lights, new dashboard and interior, and new series designations. The medium-duty series 4000 and 6000 received the Viking name. The Vikings were the 1.5- and 2-ton range and could be ordered as chassis/cowls; chassis/windshield; chassis/cab, or as complete stake trucks. Wheelbases were 132.5-inch, 144.5-inch, and 156.5-inch. The Vikings had GVW rating of up to 21000 pounds.

Hey i have a Chevrolet Viking LCF 50 for sale. It has a 283 in it. when we found it it had a 5th wheel plate and a saddle tank on it but we removed that and it is now a chassis cab so someone could do whatever they want with it. its a kind of a barn find was told that it ran when parked in 1980's. tried to start after cleaning carb but the bendix is bad on the starter. The 58 viking. Does it have the short hood (coe) or the long one in the pictures at this site? Are the wheels spoked or bud?
