In 1958, Alfa Romeo introduced its new model "1000" or Mille with a capacity of 8-11 tons. The trucks were equipped with a new 11-liter engine with an output of 163-174 hp, 8-speed gearbox and a new spacious sleeper cab. The grille has original Alfa Romeo's stylized shield. The truck has been called one of the most elegant and innovative truck for its time. But because of the difficult economic situation and strong competition from larger companies, it was produced only until 1964. That time Alfa Romeo has ceased production of heavy trucks. In 1956, the license for the production of the Mille was acquired by the Brazilian company FNM and was producing these trucks under its own brand until 1980.
